MSI brings the shipyard to you
MSI’s concept is simple: WE BRING THE SHIPYARD TO YOUR VESSEL. This ensures that the FPSO can remain on location or that a ship is able to minimize off-hire and loss of revenue due to time spent in planned or unplanned dry-dockings.
Corrosion protection is a key to controlling the long term cost of marine assets. MSI specializes in Ultra High Pressure (UHP) blasting using fresh water at approx. 2000 bar pressure to thoroughly remove scale and contaminants allowing a new coating system to be applied on a spot or full area basis.
If the damage has already reached class minimum standards, the MSI teams of class certified welders are ready to crop and renew plate and piping or install SPS overlay where this is cost effective.
Attentive to safety, highly professional, hard-working, multi-skilled, trained across a number of professions: our people is our greatest asset.
With the lack of bed-space always a critical factor onboard both offshore oil & gas installations and ships, having productive teams onboard who is able to efficiently work across multi-skilled disciplines, the same crew will de-muck, clean/chemical clean, erect scaffolding, UHP blast, move steel and materials, arrange ventilation and spray paint to NORSOK/PSPC standards.
The MSI teams have experience from similar projects, are used to working independently and away from a “home” base, and come with sea-man papers and STCW for shipping work and BOSIET/HUET and offshore medical certificates for offshore oil & gas work.
The steel teams have class approved welding certificates including for flux-core welding and have wide experience with plate and pipe-repairs on station with the challenges of material handling, access and simultaneous operations which are found in this situations.
MSI provides class approved and quality repairs to maintain the structural integrity of:
- Production platforms
- Conventional bulkers
- Chemical/clean/dirty tankers
- LPG, LNG and FLNG tankers
- Container vessels
This includes de-mucking, cleaning, scaffolding, steel repairs, blasting and painting and cold-cutting using UHP.
MSI also provides steel and coating inspectors to plan and execute scheduled maintenance and life-extension of marine assets in ship-yards world-wide.
MSI works for major oil companies, offshore contractors, rig owners, FPSO operators and shipping companies such as:
Chevron, Shell, Frontline, BW Offshore, Kleven, BP, Statoil, Nordic American Shipping, V. Ships, Anglo Eastern, BW Gas, Berge Bulk, OSG, MOL LNG, Hoegh LNG, Awilco LNG, Transpetrol, Rickmers, Teekay, Fred Olsen, Golar LNG, Stolt Nielsen, …….
